STEVE ANDERSON
Steve earned his MFA in Acting from Brandeis University in 1991, where he received a full-tuition scholarship and teaching assistantship. He has been training/coaching actors in private and formal settings for 32 years.

Before heading into teaching and directing full-time in the 90's, Steve performed off-Broadway and in Regional Theatre, including with Obie Award-winner Ralph Lee at venues such as the Central Park SummerStage, the Cathedral of St. John the Divine's, and as a movement artist in the Ticker Tape Parade for Nelson Mandela in 1990. Steve also performed in regional theatre venues such as the Huntington Theatre Company and the New Rep, and with the DramaLogue Award-winning Blueline Theatre Company in Los Angeles. His return to performance began in 2023 opposite Vicky Krieps (PHANTOM THREAD, CORSAGE) in the international feature film THE WALL, directed by Philippe Van Leeuw (IN SYRIA). THE WALL premiered at the Brussels International Film Festival in 2023, followed by a limited European theatrical run.
As a director, Steve primarily worked in live theatre and theatre education, which led to the creation of Teen Street Films in 2010, an actor training & film performance program for teens, which he directed for 12 seasons.
Steve was hired to direct his first feature film, LUCKY U RANCH, in 2014, now distributed by Random Media. He also directed THE SECRET LIVES OF TEACHERS, a short film that played in 25 festivals and garnered nine honors and awards and is now available on IndieFlix. Most recently, Steve directed ROOM 107, which premiered at Dances With Films:NYC. ROOM 107 is a short film about the dangers of the trafficking industry. It won the Sam Polito Award for "Best Arizona Short Film" at the 2024 Arizona International Film Festival. Just prior, Steve directed 42 SECONDS, a short film about the sole survivors of a mass shooting who meet at the scene in hopes of healing from their shared trauma. 42 SECONDS recently won Director's Choice - Best Arizona Narrative Short at the Prescott Film Festival, Best Short at the Flagstaff International Film Festival, and Best Short Drama at the Roosevelt Island Film Festival. Both films are in their festival runs as of late-2024.​
